HP ProBook 640 G2 Keyboard, Non-Backlit (P/N 840791-001)

HP ProBook 640 G2 Keyboard Replacement, Non-Backlit

Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP ProBook 640 G2 with this genuine-fit HP ProBook 640 G2 Keyboard replacement (P/N 840791-001). A direct drop-in fit built to the original factory specification. The 640 G2 is a 14-inch business notebook, and its compact keyboard deck sits closer to the edges of the chassis than the 15-inch ProBook models, so an exact part-number match matters more here than on larger units.

Key Features & Benefits

• Direct Fit – matches the original ProBook 640 G2 keyboard well exactly
• Brand New – not refurbished
• US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard
• Full Key Travel – restores normal typing feel
• Compact 14-inch Fit – sized correctly for the 640 G2’s narrower keyboard well, unlike keyboards pulled from 15-inch ProBooks
• Correctly Keyed Ribbon – the flex cable only seats one way, reducing the risk of a reversed connection
• Consistent Key Feel – every key is pressed and checked for even actuation before packing

Performance & Reliability

Built specifically for the HP ProBook 640 G2 Keyboard well, this replacement is fit-tested before listing to guarantee a precise match and reliable everyday typing performance.

Because the 640 G2 shares its chassis family with the 650 G2 but uses a shorter keyboard tray, we confirm the part number against the 14-inch bezel before dispatch rather than assuming a generic ProBook keyboard will fit. This attention to fit means the replacement should sit flush against the palm rest with even spacing across the function row and no protruding edges.

Compatibility

Fits HP ProBook 640 G2 laptops, part number 840791-001. Confirm your exact model before ordering.

Safety & Quality Standards

Every keyboard is inspected for correct pinout, key travel, and frame fit before shipping, protecting your motherboard connector from damage during installation.

Easy Installation

Power off and unplug the laptop, remove the battery, release the keyboard retaining screws or clips, disconnect the ribbon cable, and fit the new keyboard by reversing the steps. Any laptop repair technician in Kenya can also fit it for you.

Ideal Users & Use Cases

Ideal for professionals running HP ProBook 640 G2 laptops who need a fast, affordable fix for missing or unresponsive keys. This fits corporate and government offices that issued the 640 G2 as a standard business laptop, travelling consultants who prefer its compact 14-inch form factor, and IT support teams keeping spares on hand for a fleet of these units. Repair shops handling walk-in ProBook 640 repairs will also find this a convenient stocked part.

Why Buy This Product in Kenya?

We stock genuine-fit laptop parts with fast delivery across Kenya. Every keyboard is quality-checked before shipping, so what arrives has already passed a pinout and key-travel inspection instead of coming straight from an unverified batch. We work with vetted suppliers to keep prices fair while avoiding the mismatched or counterfeit keyboards that circulate for older ProBook models, and our team can confirm your exact chassis from its part or serial sticker if needed. Most Nairobi orders ship the same day, with reliable courier delivery countrywide.
