HP G4-2000/G6-2000 Keyboard, Non-Backlit (P/N 699497-001)

HP G4-2000 G6-2000 Keyboard Replacement, Non-Backlit

Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP G4-2000 or G6-2000 series laptop with this genuine-fit HP G4-2000 G6-2000 Keyboard replacement (P/N 699497-001). A direct drop-in fit built to the original factory specification.

These budget consumer G-series laptops were widely sold across Kenya as everyday home and student machines, so replacement keyboards for them are frequently needed after a spill, a dropped bag, or simply years of daily typing wearing the most-used keys down. Both series share the same key well and mounting layout, so this one genuine-fit part covers repairs across both model families without needing separate stock for each.

Key Features & Benefits

• Direct Fit – matches the original G4-2000/G6-2000 keyboard well exactly
• Brand New – not refurbished
• US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard
• Full Key Travel – restores normal typing feel
• One Part, Two Series – a single SKU covering both G4-2000 and G6-2000 repairs
• Durable Legends – printed key labels that resist fading with daily use
• Firm Backing Plate – reduces flex compared to a worn or damaged original keyboard

Performance & Reliability

Built specifically for the HP G4-2000 G6-2000 Keyboard well, this replacement is fit-tested before listing to guarantee a precise match and reliable everyday typing performance.

Because the connector and mounting points match the factory chassis exactly, there is no wobble, no keys sitting proud of the deck, and no intermittent presses that often come with mismatched aftermarket substitutes bought without a confirmed part-number match. Key switches are rated for sustained daily typing, matching the durability of a genuine HP component rather than a short-lived generic copy sold without proper testing.

Compatibility

Fits HP G4-2000 series and G6-2000 series laptops sharing part number 699497-001. Confirm your exact model before ordering, since HP reused similar chassis designs across several G-series sub-models with slightly different mounting details.

Safety & Quality Standards

Every keyboard is inspected for correct pinout, key travel, and frame fit before shipping, protecting your motherboard connector from damage during installation.

Easy Installation

Power off and unplug the laptop, remove the battery, release the keyboard retaining screws or clips, disconnect the ribbon cable, and fit the new keyboard by reversing the steps. Any laptop repair technician in Kenya can also fit it for you in a matter of minutes.

Ideal Users & Use Cases

Ideal for home users and students running HP G4-2000/G6-2000 laptops who need a fast, affordable fix for missing or unresponsive keys. It also suits parents keeping a family laptop usable for schoolwork, and small repair shops that need one reliable part covering both model families for walk-in customers and quick counter repairs.
