HP ProBook 450 G6 Keyboard, Backlit (P/N L45090-001)

HP ProBook 450 G6 Replacement Keyboard, Backlit

Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP ProBook 450 G6 with this genuine-fit backlit replacement (P/N L45090-001). A direct drop-in fit built to the original specification.

The G6 refresh brought a slightly revised chassis and key well compared to earlier 450 generations, so this keyboard is tooled specifically to that layout rather than reused from an older ProBook 450 mould. If your keyboard has cracked or missing keycaps, a dead backlight, or key rows that no longer respond, this replacement brings it back to factory condition. It is also a common fix after a liquid spill has left certain keys sticky or unresponsive, or after years of daily typing have simply worn the switches down.

Key Features

• Backlit Keys – type comfortably in low light, evenly lit across the full-size deck
• Direct Fit – matches the original ProBook 450 G6 layout precisely
• Brand New – not refurbished, not a used pull
• Includes Backlight Cable – ready to install straight out of the box
• US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard with correct legends
• Solid Backing Plate – reduced flex across the 15.6-inch deck
• Even Key Travel – factory-matched feel rather than a shallow substitute
• Clean Legend Printing – laser-etched key labels that resist wearing off

Compatibility & Installation

Built specifically for the HP ProBook 450 G6 chassis, this keyboard uses the same connector and pinout as the original part, plugging straight into the existing motherboard header. Most swaps take 15-20 minutes with a small screwdriver, and because the mounting tabs align exactly with the factory chassis, there is no cutting, filing, or forcing needed to seat it correctly. The palm rest and trackpad assembly stay untouched throughout the swap, and no bracket modification is required.

Performance & Reliability

Every keyboard is bench-tested for key response and backlight uniformity before it ships, so there are no dead keys or dim backlight zones out of the box. The key switches are rated for the same duty cycle as the original HP part, standing up to daily office or classroom use rather than wearing out quickly like some generic substitutes. Backlight brightness stays even across the full deck rather than fading toward the edges, and the keycap finish resists shine from repeated contact.

Ideal Users & Use Cases

This replacement suits professionals and students relying on the 450 G6 for daily typing-heavy work, repair technicians handling walk-in keyboard swaps, and IT departments keeping spares on hand for corporate 450 G6 deployments still in active service. It also suits resellers refreshing used units before resale, where a fresh keyboard makes a real difference to buyer confidence.
