HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 Keyboard, Non-Backlit (P/N 818252-001 family)

HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 Keyboard Replacement, Non-Backlit

Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 with this genuine-fit HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 Keyboard replacement (P/N 818252-001 family). A direct drop-in fit built to the original factory specification. The Folio 1040 G3 carries HP’s ultra-slim business chassis, and because the keyboard deck doubles as part of the top cover’s structural rigidity, a cracked frame or failing key switches can also make the whole deck feel less solid — a proper genuine-fit replacement corrects both.

Key Features & Benefits

• Direct Fit – matches the original Folio 1040 G3 keyboard well exactly
• Brand New – not refurbished
• US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard
• Full Key Travel – restores normal typing feel
• Structural Frame Match – restores the deck’s original rigidity, not just individual key function
• Factory Ribbon Connector – matches the 818252-001 part family pinout for a direct plug-in swap
• Slim Profile Build – keeps the same low-profile key height as the original G3 board

Performance & Reliability

Built specifically for the HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 Keyboard well, this replacement is fit-tested before listing to guarantee a precise match and reliable everyday typing performance.

Each board is checked key-by-key before it ships and flex-tested to confirm it sits rigid and flush in the ultra-slim Folio chassis, since a loose fit on this generation is more noticeable than on thicker laptops due to the reduced deck thickness. We also verify there’s no interference with the trackpad cable routing that runs close to the keyboard tray on this model.

Compatibility

Fits HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 laptops, part number 818252-001 family. Confirm your exact model before ordering.

The G3 revision introduced a different keyboard mount from the earlier G1 and G2 Folio 1040 models, so parts from those generations will not fit despite the shared model name. Check your system label for “818252-001” or confirm the G3 generation in Windows system information before ordering.

Safety & Quality Standards

Every keyboard is inspected for correct pinout, key travel, and frame fit before shipping, protecting your motherboard connector from damage during installation.

Easy Installation

Power off and unplug the laptop, remove the battery, release the keyboard retaining screws or clips, disconnect the ribbon cable, and fit the new keyboard by reversing the steps. Any laptop repair technician in Kenya can also fit it for you.

Ideal Users & Use Cases

Ideal for professionals running the HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 who need a fast, affordable fix for missing or unresponsive keys. It’s a good fit for consultants and executives who travel with this ultra-slim ultrabook daily, corporate IT teams managing ageing EliteBook fleets, and repair technicians who need a reliable stock part for a chassis where generic universal keyboards rarely sit flush. It also suits anyone who’s noticed the deck feels less rigid than before, which often points to a cracked keyboard frame rather than just failing keys.
