HP EliteBook 840 G5-G6 Keyboard, Non-Backlit (P/N L14379-001)

HP EliteBook 840 G5-G6 Keyboard Replacement, Non-Backlit

Fix a broken or unresponsive keyboard on your HP EliteBook 840 G5 or 840 G6 with this genuine-fit HP EliteBook 840 G5-G6 Keyboard replacement (P/N L14379-001). A direct drop-in fit built to the original factory specification. The 840 G5/G6 is one of the most widely issued corporate laptops in Kenya, and after years of heavy office typing it’s common for the space bar, enter key, or an entire row to become unreliable long before the rest of the machine shows any wear.

Key Features & Benefits

• Direct Fit – matches the original 840 G5/G6 keyboard well exactly
• Brand New – not refurbished
• US Layout – standard QWERTY English keyboard
• Full Key Travel – restores normal typing feel
• Matching Frame Fit – screw posts and retaining clips align precisely with the L14379-001 chassis
• Correct Ribbon Connector – shared factory pinout across both the G5 and G6 revisions
• Familiar EliteBook Key Feel – keeps the firm, quiet scissor-switch action this series is known for

Performance & Reliability

Built specifically for the HP EliteBook 840 G5-G6 Keyboard well, this replacement is fit-tested before listing to guarantee a precise match and reliable everyday typing performance.

Every unit is run through a full key-press test before dispatch to rule out dead keys, ghosting, or double-typing, with particular attention to the space bar and shift keys, which see the highest wear on office laptops. The frame is also checked for a flush seat across the full 14-inch width, since a slightly bowed board is the most common cause of an uneven typing feel after a self-installed swap.

Compatibility

Fits HP EliteBook 840 G5 and 840 G6 laptops sharing part number L14379-001. Confirm your exact model before ordering.

HP retained the same keyboard well from the G5 to the G6 refresh, which is why one part covers both, but the earlier 840 G3/G4 and later 840 G7/G8 generations use different mounting points and connectors. Check the system label under your laptop for “L14379-001” or confirm your G5/G6 generation before ordering.

Safety & Quality Standards

Every keyboard is inspected for correct pinout, key travel, and frame fit before shipping, protecting your motherboard connector from damage during installation.

Easy Installation

Power off and unplug the laptop, remove the battery, release the keyboard retaining screws or clips, disconnect the ribbon cable, and fit the new keyboard by reversing the steps. Any laptop repair technician in Kenya can also fit it for you.

Ideal Users & Use Cases

Ideal for professionals running HP EliteBook 840 G5/G6 laptops who need a fast, affordable fix for missing or unresponsive keys. It’s a strong fit for corporate employees issued the 840 as a standard work machine, finance, legal, and admin staff who type documents all day, and IT departments managing large EliteBook fleets who need a dependable stock part number. It’s also a practical choice for repair shops, since the 840 G5/G6 is one of the most frequently serviced business laptops in the Kenyan market.
